Wij ontvingen gisteren onderstaande uitnodiging. Zijn er DRG-ers die erheen willen?

We are a non profitable student organization of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay named Techfest (http://www.techfest.org/). Techfest is the annual technical festival of IIT Bombay, India. Over the years, since its inception in 1998, Techfest has earned the tag of Asia’s largest Science and Technology Festival much before it went global in 2009 and it was patronized by UNESCO in its endeavor to provide a platform for the blooming to showcase their talent in the field of technology. Techfest 2012 saw a footfall of more than 92,000 students with over 25,000 students from India and abroad participating in various events.

Techfest is also the host of India's biggest, most prestigious and most competitive robot combat competition 'Robowars'(http://www.techfest.org/home/event/robowars). Robowars is the flagship event of Techfest with various qualifying rounds spread over a span of two days. Last year we received 200 abstracts and videos of robots from all over the country out of which we selected 71 for competing at Techfest.

Being the flagship event Robowars has a static crowd of 800 at any point of time, with a moving crowd of more than 1500, and a total of atleast 5000 people turn out to witness the event on each of the two days. Apart from the award for three top scoring teams awards are given for best engineering best design, best weapon, young innovation as decided by the judging panel.

We propose you to participate at Robowars, Techfest. It will take place in the first week of January 2013. It would be a great chance for both sides to have a technical exchange and it would be great for us to be associated with your prestigious organization. Techfest has been associated to International technical community since many years through our international robotics competition iNexus (http://www.techfest.org/home/event/inexus). It would be great if we could have participation from your side at our event and increase the competition level of our event. We wish to create best opportunities and avenues for genuinely interested and talented participants and showcase it to the world.

We would be very pleased if you consider this proposal and provide an opportunity of technical exchange on international level through our festival.

Dit zou mijn eerste nummer 1 notering kunnen zijn!
Robot mag volgens hun regels maximaal 35 kilo wegen, en 8 bar druk gebruiken.
Vliegticket retour ligt tussen de 600 a 900 euro vanaf Amsterdam.

Hmm, low pressure, 35kg max, doenbaar. Maar mij iets te ver weg.

best geinig ja. Maar beetje verweg, hoewel... Maar je betaald wel bij om de robot en tools e.d. mee te nemen die kant op (en terug). nog verblijf en een auto/taxi...

India kennende verwacht ik wel veel papierwerk om al je spullen het land in te krijgen + visum, maar aan publiek ongetwijfeld geen gebrek.
Ik zou mumbai niet aanraden als vakantiebestemming, maar goa is er niet al te ver vandaan en is een stuk beter.
