Ik kreeg een mailtje binnen, of we naar amerika willen komen.
First off, let me tell you that I can sympathize. I've been through event
cancellations - both as a promoter and as a competitor - so I know it sucks.
No matter how much you promote, you just cannot guarantee a draw...
I've been involved in Robot Combat since the beginning, was head judge for
BattleBots, etc but I'll spare you the resume. And I would like to try to help
everyone out as best as I can - to make sure a World Championship still
happens.
Next March, we'll be doing our second year of "ROBOlympics" which features both
combat and non-combat robots. While there's a chance that the name will change
(long story) the event itself will definately happen, and I'd like to invite all
competitors who'd registerd for the FRA world championships to come to San
Francisco next March. (Check out our site for photos, videos, and other stuff
from the last event - http://www.robolympics.net)
To all non-US-based registered teams of the FRA World Championship:
1) ALL fees will be waved to ROBOlympics2005 (March 24-27, 2005) and
2) I'll also give 2 food passes to each team. So that's about $500-1000 worth
of sponsorship/team. I'll also see about cheap hotels (though we do that
anyway for all teams.)
Can't afford to fly y'all out here, but I would love to see the FRA and the RFL
face off.
This offer is just for registered teams... Let me know if this sounds good, and
if there's anything else I can do to help out.
Wishing you all well.

Technically speaking, Whiskey is a solution.
