saying they have lost my previously signed contract, and will I please sign a new one which they have sent, and that 5 have not decided on this years Wars yet, so please sign just in case

Why? I think it´s just another live event of the FRA. Probably bigger, but this makes IMHO no difference. Or is that a misinterpretation of the contract?

Sounds like a ruse, or cheap trick.Or even 1 april misfiring.
It was already know that the Mentorn contracts arn't legal. So why bother signing a new one?
And as we know, Mentorn has sold an Arena.
So, or they have money to spare(not according to the stocks),or they anticipated the whole thing, and sold the arena to have ready cash to make more RW series.
But no TV firm is going to make something that doesn't have a buyer. And with the kind of viewing figures 5 got,due the joggling of the broadcasting times, I do not see 5 putting any more money in S8.
And most important. Are we going along with the Phantom works idea of taking Robotic combat to a real sportmans level, or do we go for the TV show approach?

The ultimate goal off course is to get te combination of the sportmanship and the television coverage.
That Mentorn sold the arena could also mean is that they know the current arena isn't enough to contain the robots. The old Robot Wars arena isn't completely spinner and flipper proof.

If I ever find my inner child I will shoot it.
